Waterproof & Underwater Servo Series
Waterproof & Underwater Servo Series
Choose Fashion Star servos for splash-prone, wet, or documented underwater environments. Protection level, immersion capability, depth, duration, installation, and maintenance must always be verified for the specific model.

HX8-A45-MPWM · IP65 · 4.81N·mProtection Designed Around the Real Operating Environment
Waterproof performance is not a single universal capability. Select according to the published model construction, IP rating, connector, and documented exposure conditions.
Water & Splash Protection
Choose IP65 for documented dust and water-jet protection or IP68 only where the specific immersion conditions match the application.
Sealed Housing
Model-specific housing and sealing help protect internal components; installation and maintenance remain part of the protection system.
Material Selection
The official models use metal housings and stainless-steel gear or output components; confirm compatibility with the actual medium.
Durable Gears & Bearings
Published construction includes stainless-steel gearing and supported bearing systems, with details varying by model.
Multiple Control Interfaces
The current Store category includes PWM and RS-485 control options for different controller architectures.
Environmental Reliability
Reliable operation depends on rating, depth, duration, temperature, medium, cable sealing, mounting, and post-use care.
Choose the Interface and Protection Level
The current Store category contains two verified models. Product cards use published Store and Wiki data rather than invented Waterproof Servo series.

Protection First, Interface Second
Start with how water reaches the mechanism. Then choose the documented protection level and a PWM or RS-485 controller path.
- IP65 / HX8-A45-MDust and water-jet protection; do not infer immersion capability.

Understand What the Rating Actually Allows
Terms such as splash resistant, waterproof, and submersible are not interchangeable. The specific datasheet and test conditions govern the installation.
Splash Resistant
A descriptive term, not a complete rating. Verify the tested water direction, pressure, enclosure, and connector details.
Water Resistant
Indicates limited resistance under stated conditions. It does not automatically allow immersion.
Waterproof / IP Rated
Use the published IP code. HX8-A45-M is documented as IP65; IP65 does not establish underwater capability.
Submersible / Underwater
Requires a model-specific immersion rating. WX8-R50W-M is listed as IP68 and 300m Waterproof in the official Wiki.
The first digit covers solid ingress and the second covers water. Read the complete rating, not the word “waterproof” alone.
IP68 conditions are specified by the manufacturer. A depth statement must not be treated as unlimited duration.
Do not assume salt-water compatibility from an IP rating. Confirm material, seal, connector, cleaning, and corrosion requirements.
The servo rating does not automatically protect the controller, power system, cable junctions, or external connectors.
Selection rule: use the individual model datasheet and application advice whenever water depth, exposure time, chemicals, pressure, salt, or safety are material to the design.
Match the Model to How Water Reaches the System
These routes help define the environment. They do not replace the individual IP rating and installation requirements.
Outdoor Robots
Choose protection for actual exposure, drainage, cable routing, and cleaning.
Unmanned Surface Vehicles
Separate splash-zone mechanisms from any components expected to remain submerged.
Amphibious Robots
Evaluate transitions between dry, splash, and immersion conditions for every component.
Agricultural Robots
Consider water, dirt, chemicals, maintenance, and corrosion together.
Inspection Robots
Use the underwater model only where its documented conditions match the mission.
Wet or Washdown Environments
Confirm pressure, direction, chemicals, seals, connectors, and cleaning procedure.
Eight Checks Before Selecting a Waterproof Servo
Define the complete environment first, then confirm actuator, control, and sealing requirements against the model documentation.
Water Exposure
Define rain, splash, jets, temporary immersion, continuous immersion, and cleaning.
Required IP Rating
Choose an explicit model rating rather than relying on a general waterproof label.
Depth & Duration
Verify the documented pressure, depth, exposure time, and test conditions.
Torque, Speed & Size
Match mechanical requirements to official specifications and drawings.
Control Interface
Select the currently listed PWM or RS-485 option supported by the controller.
Voltage & Power
Confirm servo voltage, current, power distribution, and protected electronics.
Materials & Corrosion
Evaluate fresh water, salt, chemicals, cleaning, and post-use maintenance.
Cables & Sealing
Plan cable, connector, junction, controller, mounting, and enclosure protection.
