Overview

Follower Execution Platform After the Build

The kit includes 11 3D-printed structural parts and 7 joint servos: RA8-U35H-M ×3, RX8-U50H-M ×1, RA8-U27H-M-C005 ×2, and RA8-U35H-M-C047 ×1. The arm weighs 791g when the build is complete; allow approximately 1–2 hours for hands-on assembly.

500g Payload After the Build

When the build is complete, the Follower arm delivers the same 420mm reach, 6+1 DoF, ±0.5mm repeatability, and 500g working payload listed in the Specification. The RA8 and brushless RX8 servos provide stable joint movement under load for grasping, handling, sorting, and trajectory execution.

LeRobot Support After the Build

After the build, Star Arm 102-FL remains the Follower and physical execution platform in the Star Arm 102 system. It works with compatible Leader arms, Hugging Face LeRobot, ROS 2 Humble, URDF, MoveIt 2, and Gazebo for teleoperation, dataset collection, model training, and deployment.

Complete Tools for the Build

The box includes the required screw kit, threadlocker, woodworking clamps, mouse pad, UC-01 electronics, XT30 power adapter cable, 200mm servo extension cable, and USB-A to USB-C cable. Follow the assembly guide step by step; no additional tool purchase is needed.

After the Build: Calibration

Before powering on, align each Star Arm 102-FL joint to its zero-position mark by hand.

Open the Web-Based Control Interface and run one-click zero-point calibration.

Jog each joint in small increments to verify direction and range limits before teleoperation or demos.

LeRobot Ecosystem Integration

The Star Arm 102-FL is natively supported as a Follower robot in the Hugging Face LeRobot ecosystem. It supports imitation learning workflows from Leader–Follower demonstrations and dataset collection to model training and physical policy deployment.
