Overview

Upgraded from the LeRobot-Listed Star Arm 102-LD

The Star Arm 102-HD extends the workflow of the LeRobot-listed Star Arm 102-LD with high-torque joints, pose holding, and greater mechanical rigidity for precise demonstrations, professional research, and extended data collection.

Pose Holding for Stable Demonstration

High-torque RP8 series servos allow the arm to hold any selected pose without dropping or rebounding. Operators can release it during step-by-step demonstrations, multi-point calibration, and extended trajectory recording.

High-Torque Joints for Precise Motion Capture

All 7 joints use RP8-U45H-M series high-torque servos, including customized models for Joints 5, 6, and the controller. Their rigid response reduces mechanical play and supports precise fine adjustments during motion capture.

420mm Reach for a Larger Operating Space

With an effective reach of 420mm, the leader arm supports wider shoulder, elbow, and wrist movements. The larger workspace accommodates full-range teleoperation, broad motion trajectories, and demonstrations involving extended reaching tasks.

Stable Desktop Operation for Extended Use

A dedicated mounting base secures the Star Arm 102-HD to a desktop while retaining handheld operation when required. Desktop mounting reduces physical effort during fine adjustments and supports long-duration data collection or shared teaching experiments.

Native Support for Robotics Development Frameworks

Star Arm 102-HD natively supports the web-based control interface, Python SDK, ROS 2 Humble, and LeRobot. The same workflow as the 102-LD enables quick switching between lightweight and pose-holding teleoperation.

LeRobot Ecosystem Integration

The Star Arm 102-HD natively supports LeRobot workflows for teleoperation, demonstration data collection, model training, and physical deployment. Its pose-holding capability enables stable step-by-step demonstrations and extended trajectory recording for imitation learning research.

ROS 2 Support

Publishes standard joint state data through ROS 2 Humble for teleoperation, arm monitoring, and robotics research. 

Python SDK

Developer-friendly SDK. Use the same control workflow as the 102-LD for Leader–Follower teleoperation and pose-holding trajectory collection.

Web-Based Control Interface

Browser-based control with quick setup. Supports real-time teleoperation, joint angle monitoring, one-click zero-point calibration, and PID parameter tuning for teaching and research.
