The 102-FL features high-torque RA8 and brushless RX8 servos, 12-bit magnetic encoders, and interchangeable rigid or flexible grippers. Overview

6+1 DoF Follower Robot Arm for Task Execution

The Star Arm 102-FL is the Follower arm and physical execution platform in the Star Arm 102 system. It receives commands from a compatible Leader arm or control software to perform grasping, handling, sorting, and trajectory execution.

300g Payload with High-Torque Robot Servos

High-torque RA8 and brushless RX8 series servos provide stable joint movement under load. With a 300g working payload, the arm can manipulate small components, laboratory materials, and everyday objects during teleoperation and automated experiments.

Pieper-Compliant Design for Inverse Kinematics

The six active joints follow the Pieper configuration, with the three wrist axes intersecting at one point. This structure supports closed-form inverse kinematics for robot kinematics education, motion planning, and control algorithm validation.

ROS 2, MoveIt 2 and Gazebo Support

Star Arm 102-FL natively supports ROS 2 Humble, URDF, MoveIt 2, and Gazebo. Developers can test motion planning, collision avoidance, and trajectories in simulation before deploying the same workflow to the physical robot arm.

LeRobot Support for Imitation Learning

With native Hugging Face LeRobot support, the 102-FL serves as the Follower robot in teleoperation and imitation learning workflows, covering human demonstrations, dataset collection, model training, and physical policy deployment.

Interchangeable Rigid and Flexible Grippers

The standardized end-effector interface supports rigid and flexible adaptive grippers. The rigid gripper enables precise handling, while the flexible gripper adapts to fragile, soft, or irregularly shaped objects and cushions contact during grasping.
