1. Tool Overview

This tool is a browser-based PC configuration software for basic configuration and quick integration testing of UART/RS485 bus servo.
It is now deployed locally. The entry page is located in this repository: docs_zh/software/servo/data/web-controller/index.html

2. Before You Start

  1. Confirm that the servo and adapter board are wired correctly, and connect the servo power supply.
  2. Connect the adapter board to the computer with a USB cable.
  3. Use the latest Chrome or Edge browser.
  4. When connecting the serial port for the first time, allow serial port access in the browser popup.

Warning

The web configuration tool depends on browser serial port capability (Web Serial API). Mobile browsers usually do not support the full feature set.

3. Servo Connection and Detection

  1. Open the web configuration tool and click Connect serial port.
  2. Select the corresponding serial port device in the popup and confirm.
  3. Click Scan servo and wait for the list to return online devices.
  4. Select the target servo to view its current status and basic parameters.

4. Common Configuration Functions

  • Angle control: send a target angle and observe the servo response.
  • Status readback: read the current position, operating status, and other information.
  • Parameter configuration: read or write basic parameters and apply them immediately.
  • Multi-device testing: scan and switch between different ID servo for testing.

5. FAQs

  • serial port not visible: check driver installation, the data cable, and the USB port.
  • No devices found during scanning: check servo power supply, voltage range, and wiring order.
  • Connection failed: close other software that is using the serial port, then try again.
  • Write operation does not take effect: confirm that the current device ID is correct and that the parameter is within the allowed range.
